"You are the only English woman I know who manages to be really chic in really hideous clothes".

a splendid menagerie[1] (also known as fancy-full gallants[2]) place particular importance upon appearance, refined language, and leisurely hobbies, pursued with the appearance of nonchalance in a cult of Self.[3] Historically, especially in late 18th- and early 19th-century Britain, a dandy, who was self-made, often strove to imitate an aristocratic style of life despite coming from a middle-class background.

today i will dye my hair..

from platinum to medium golden blonde.
this is the sort of color i hope it turns out to be..
i will be dying it myself
in my own little bathroom.
and then, when i am all done,
perhaps i can look like i am going on holiday
to futuristic who-ville.
i love her make-up and the expression on her face.
and really, the color is wonderful.

then i have an appointment to get a signature facial
down in newport beach.
i have not had a facial done for a few years now...
and thought it might be about time
to treat myself to something i deserve.

[after i dye it---this picture will be the-
my hair 'then'
to the my hair now]

it's not much of a change.
i always go back and forth.
